Meet our Team

Lina Acosta Sandaal, MA - Program Director, Founder

Lina began her career at Vista del Mar in Los Angeles. There, she developed expertise in child and adolescent development and infant and early childhood mental health, while strengthening her resolve to support families.  She has trained and participated in research studies with Yale’s Minding the Baby, National Child Traumatic Stress Network, and Child Trauma Research Program. In 2015 she was named Mujer Legendaria de Ford for quality in her field. She brings this expertise to her work at Stop Parenting Alone.  


Elizabeth Palenzuela, MS - Clinical supervisor

After stints at Miami Children’s Hospital and MCH Psychiatry, Elizabeth launched her private practice in 2010.  Her approach requires each client to be actively involved in creating their own life changes within the context of their family system and/or their identified social network. In 2014, she joined our team as the Clinical Supervisor. Elizabeth holds a B.A. in Psychology from FIU and an M.S. in Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from Barry University.


Arlet Sabella, MS - Associate Therapist

Arlet Sabella is a Registered Mental Health Counselor with 18 years of diversified experience in the field, working with children, adolescents, adults and families, often with severe cases and an assorted spectrum of symptoms and diagnoses. Her experience has convinced her that even the severest cases have hope and that building resilience is key. She earned a B.S. from the University of Miami, and an M.S. in Psychology with a Major in Mental Health Counseling from Carlos Albizu University in Miami.

 


Courtnie Rodich, ms - Associate Therapist

Courtnie earned her M.S. in Education from the University of Miami in the Mental Health Counseling program, with an MFT focus. Prior to Stop Parenting Alone, she worked at the Institute for Individual and Family Counseling, providing counseling services for individuals, couples, families, children and adolescents. Her undergraduate research findings at the University of Maryland and subsequent practice inform her style and core vision: to create outstanding, long-lasting relationships with the individuals and families that she sees, that thrive on excellence, progress, and respect.


StephanY Stathopoulou, ms - associate therapist

Stephany attended the University of Miami for her M.S. in Education with a concentration on Marriage and Family Therapy. Prior to Stop Parenting Alone, she worked at the Institute for Individual and Family Counseling (IIFC), providing counseling services to individuals, children, adolescents, couples, and families. Stephany has also worked with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and/or learning disabilities and has trained in motivational interviewing and applied behavior analysis.

 


Stephanie Rodriguez, MS - Community Therapist

Stephanie earned her M.S. in Counselor Education, through the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program from Florida International University. Prior to Stop Parenting Alone, she worked at Family Counseling Services (FCS) and Switchboard of Miami, providing counseling services to individuals, groups, children, and adolescents. Stephanie was also trained in applied behavior analysis, and has worked with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.


YESIkka VIVANCOS - administrative manager

Yesikka joined Stop Parenting Alone in 2014. We couldn't do what we do at our space without Yesi. In addition to the number of hats she wears for us, she is also an amazing photographer and co-owner of Chocolate Milk Photography.


 

Gaby Bruscantini - administrative Assistant

Gaby has been with us for some time now assisting us with our Social Emotional Family Groups and now.... she is the voice you hear when you call our space after 3pm. =)
